This ministry was formed at St. Anthony Church in order to foster a culture of life and engage parishioners in life-affirming activities. This ministry helps to educate parishioners on the issues of abortion and the sanctity of life and organizes political efforts to support life.
As Catholics, we believe that human life is a precious gift from God and that we must protect and nurture human life at every stage of its existence. If you would like to join our committee, please contact Trudy at: 203-305-4972 or [email protected]
40 Days for Life: Fall 2022
Each year the Respect Life Ministry of the Archdiocese of Hartford coordinates participation in the 40 Days for Life campaign which aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of an abortion facility. The 40 Days for Life campaign this year begins on September 28 and ends on November 6, 2022. The campaign will begin with an Opening Day Mass on September 28 at 7:30 am at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. This will be followed by a Rosary prayer in front of Planned Parenthood, 1030 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford.
St. Anthony parishioners will be holding our prayerful vigil on October 12 in Waterbury at the site the Archdiocese has designated. Members of our Pro-Life Committee attend this yearly event, but we would very much like other parishioners to join us by signing up to pray for one hour (or two) on October 12. Perhaps some of you who participated in the March for Life in Hartford this past March would be interested in joining us!
This is a wonderful opportunity to stand witness to our faith and send a powerful message to the community about the tragic reality of abortion. Please give serious consideration to joining us!!
To sign up, please call Trudy Higgins at 203 305-4972 or send an e-mail to: [email protected]
