Volunteer of the Week
Lois Chicano
When Lois Chicano joined the Parish of St Anthony she immediately wanted to get involved, so she joined the Ladies Guild. Within a few years she was asked by Deacon Dominic to consider becoming a Reader so she joined that ministry.
“I like sharing the Word of God with the parishioners at Mass”, Lois said, “I make sure to study the preparation materials we receive before we read. This has brought me closer to the Bible and made me more aware of the meaning”. In addition to her ministry as a Reader, Lois is also an Extraordinary Minister of
Holy Communion, and an Adult Altar Server.
But Lois’ work as a volunteer doesn’t
stop with our parish she is also a member of the Prospect Fire Department
Auxiliary and most recently she put to work her experience as a retired Registered
Nurse by volunteering with the Chesprocott Vaccine Clinics since January.
