Remembering Our Deceased Loved Ones on All Souls Day

We had a wonderful turnout for our All Souls Mass on November 2nd, when we read the names listed of those who had a funeral Mass here at St. Anthony's over the last year.  Each year we are given the opportunity to remember and if need be, to say goodbye to all our deceased loved ones (whether they died during the past year or many years ago). During the month of November, we get the chance to remember and be thankful for all the important people in our lives who have passed from this life to eternal life. As the writer of the Book of Wisdom puts it, “The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.” (Wisdom 3:1-3)
