Pentecost & Godparents' Weekend: June 4th & 5th

The weekend of June 4th and 5th is an exciting one in the Catholic Church!

June 5th is Pentecost, 50 days after Easter. On this day, we celebrate the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles in tongues of fire. Please wear red to Mass this weekend as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. Father will also be handing out a handing decoration to all children at the Masses on Pentecost Sunday that will remind them of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost also marks the beginning of the Christian church's mission to the world. It's the birthday of the Church and a cause for celebration! Please join us for the Welcome Committee's Faith and Friendship Gatherings held after each Mass this weekend!

But wait, there's more!

In the United States, Godparents' Sunday is celebrated on the first Sunday in June. Our Church will have a blessing of Godparents at each Mass this weekend, please join us!

Don't forget to have your child make a card for his or her godparent(s), and/or call them. Also, take a moment to use the prayer below to bless your godparent(s):
