A letter from our Music Director 10/17/2022

Dear Saint Anthony Parish Family,

I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to all who were able to make the musical performance on Saturday’s Anniversary Mass a musical success. I would like to thank the Saint Anthony’s Choir, my colleagues at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School, the choir from Saint Mary’s in Derby, friends from the choir of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and my students past and present who came together to lend their gift of song to enhance the musical contribution to the liturgical celebration. I wish to thank Abby Patterson, our cantor, for her assistance in set up and being a sounding board to my ideas and helping them come to fruition. I thank the Minicucci family for their generosity in providing us refreshments for the rehearsal and their assistance with the choir. I thank Andrea Brown for her assistance in providing an extra hand with organizing and ensuring that the visiting members of Saint Anthony’s knew that they are family to us. One of the greatest contributions to the musical performance is twofold. We were provided with an original composition of Psalm 121, dedicated to the parish family in honor of their Anniversary celebration, and it was lead by our former cantor Leanna Hinger, who helped to lead us in song for the liturgy. It is not an everyday experience in which time and talent by volunteers come seemingly together to bring a dynamic musical flourish to the Mass. In closing, on behalf of the Pastoral Music Ministry here at Saint Anthony’s, I thank all of the musical volunteers and all others who assisted, both seen and unseen, for the dedication of their voices and generosity of endeavor. I appreciate you all wholeheartedly.

My Best,
Ralph
