Staff Member: Charlene Carriero
As the Bulletin Editor, Charlene Carriero is responsible for “getting the news out” in the weekly St Anthony bulletin. She plays a vital role in the communication between the administration and parishioners of the church. Another aspect of her job is to keep the Parish Registration updated in the church database system when a parishioner registers. Additionally, she enters all the weekly collections into the database, organizes special mailings (Christmas, Tax Letters, Easter), answers phones and other general office duties.
After “retiring” from a full-time position at a mortgage company in July of 2007, Charlene answered an ad in the bulletin looking for a part-time administrative assistant in January of 2008 and has been part of the St Anthony staff ever since.
“Working at St Anthony has been a blessing to me, it has made me more aware and appreciative of my faith. I enjoy meeting parishioners – it’s nice to be able to put a face to the many names I come across every day. I consider everyone here my “extended family”, they continue to be a great support to me every day.
In her spare time Char enjoys spending time with family and friends, doing jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, supporting St. Anthony’s Bingo on Monday Nights, and an occasional trip to the casino. “My 3 daughters, 1 son and 8 grandchildren keep me busy as well. My daughters all live within a 20-mile radius of Prospect and my son lives in Nashville hoping to pursue a career in music production.”
