Deacon Domenic Stolfi

Deacon

After several priests urged him to consider entering the diaconate program in the mid 1970’s, Deacon Domenic Stolfi was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on June 4, 1982 by Archbishop John Whelan. He has been assigned to St Anthony Parish for the last 13 years. Prior to that he worked as an Electrical Contractor in his family business from which he is now retired.

Deacon Dom’s primary job in the parish is to assist the Pastor in any way that is needed and permitted by Canon Law. His duties are many and include the following: assist at Mass, preach the Homily once a month, perform Baptisms and Marriages, preside at Benediction and Stations of the Cross during Lent, presenter of the RCIA and be a member of the Pastoral Council.

His biggest inspirations have been exercising his ministry and getting to know the parishioners. “We have such wonderful and talented people at St Anthony Church that I am motivated to always do my best and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to serve. There is no question that working with this parish and seeing how its people deal with struggles and joys, has deepened my faith.”

In his free time, Deacon Dom enjoys spending time with his wife of 50 years, Enes at their home in Litchfield. They have two daughters, Angela a High School English teacher, and Dawn, an Environmental lawyer as well as three grandchildren. It is fitting that Deacon Dom’s favorite Holiday would be Thanksgiving since it is a wonderful day set aside to spend with family, eat good food and be thankful for all God has given us.
