Adult Education and Formation Committee
The mission of this Committee is to provide enriching programs that assist adult parishioners in developing a living, conscious, and active faith as a Christian community.
Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest and deacon during the liturgy of the Mass. They must be entering the 4th grade or older and complete a short training program in which they learn the parts of the Mass and church traditions.
Altar Society – Sacristy and Sanctuary
The members of the Altar Society care for the altar, sanctuary, vessels, vestments, candles and provide for Sunday flowers and seasonal decorations.
Babysitting During Mass
Provides babysitting services at the Parish Center for children up to age 4 while parents are attending the 9:30 Mass.
Baking
Assists the Hospitality Committee by providing baked goods for a variety of church functions. These include the monthly coffee hours, special receptions and occasional fund raisers.
Baptismal Preparation
Prepares parents and godparents for the baptism of their child by emphasizing their role in the spiritual development of the child and the nature of the Sacrament of Baptism.
Bereavement Ministry
Provides ongoing support and companionship to parishioners who have lost a loved one and guide them in their journey from grief to healing.
Bingo Ministry
Performs all those duties necessary to ensure an effective and successful bingo program for our church. Volunteering one Monday a month will go a long way in making this vital ministry a success for our parish.
Charismatic Renewal
Promotes the deepening of one's faith, oftentimes providing an awakening of the baptismal and confirmation gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit (i.e. fortitude, piety, understanding, patience, peace, kindness, gentleness, self control, etc.). "The Holy Spirit is continually finding ways to touch us. Movements like the Charismatic Renewal are signs of God's Grace." Yves Congar, O.P.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Held during the 9:30 AM Mass on Sundays. At the "Liturgy of the Word for Children" we read and share the Sunday Gospel in a question and answer format that the children can understand and enjoy. The children return to their parents during the offertory. Our aim is to make the children's experience of church meaningful, while helping them to grow in the faith of the Catholic Church and develop as full and active members of our Parish Community.
Collection Counters
Organize and account for weekend collections following the Mass.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
These ministers are laypersons trained by the diocese to assist with the distribution of the Eucharist in both species during Mass. They also provide for the distribution of Holy Communion to the sick, elderly and homebound members of our parish.
Family Prayer Chalice for Vocations Program
Members of our parish community who pray together as a family for an increase in church vocations of priests, deacons and consecrated religious.
Finance Council
Oversees and ensures the financial health of the parish; responsible for the preparation of the annual budget, reviewing actual income and expenses, and advising the Pastor on financial matters.
Funeral Mass/Lazarus Committee
These caring individuals meet the needs of our parishioners at the time of a death and guide them in creating a meaningful funeral liturgy. No special experience is necessary just a willingness to help parishioners in a very meaningful way to honor their loved ones.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
A support group for parishioners who, for a variety of reasons, find themselves raising their grandchildren.
Hospitality Committee
This active ministry supports the many activities of our church by preparing meals, providing refreshments organizing baked goods at church receptions, and by bringing the church community together for social occasions.
Knights of Columbus
The Knights was formed in 1882 by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, and its principles include charity, unity and fraternity, and patriotism. The Knights render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
Ladies Guild
Promotes the spiritual well being of all Catholic women. We do this by participating in the life of the church, promoting fellowship of our members, and performing charitable works. The Guild also supports the church financially through their fundraising events.
Light Church Cleaning Minstry
The members of this ministry take great pride in performing light church cleaning in preparation of the sacred liturgy. In teams of two they help keep our church clean and welcoming.
Liturgical Connections
Works with the Pastor to identify and prepare for special recognition liturgies throughout the church year.
Liturgical Music
Provides music at weekend liturgies and other special liturgies including funerals and weddings. The ministry includes cantors, choir members, ensemble group and musicians.
Mothers Group
The mission of the Mothers Group is to be available to all mothers with preschool children as one mother to another, assisting in spiritual nourishing, encouraging & supporting moms with the challenges encountered on a daily basis.
Office Volunteers
Assist parish staff as needed in a variety of office related functions (e.g. bulletin stuffing, collating, mailing).
Outreach Ministries
This is a far reaching ministry that provides assistance and compassion to the elderly, sick and homebound of our parish. To be a member of this ministry is to be a witness of Christ’s compassion and love for the weak and sick members of our parish.
Parish Giving - Food Pantry, Holiday Collections, Giving Tree
Supports Christ’s message of providing assistance to the poor, less fortunate or those in need through various collections and programs.
Parish Health Program
Promotes the holistic health of our parishioners in body, mind, and spirit.
Parish Photographers
Take photographs of church activities and functions to be used in publications or kept as a record of church life.
Pastoral Council
Oversees, evaluates, and develops all areas of parish life: spiritual, pastoral and practical; responsible for setting pastoral goals and guiding parish activities.
Prayer Line and Prayer Basket
Open to anyone willing to make a commitment to pray at home for the needs of the parish and parishioners. Prayer intentions are received in several ways by this ministry. All you need is a few minutes a day and a willingness to pray for the needs of our parishioners.
Pro-Life Society
Helps to educate parishioners on the issues of abortion and the sanctity of life; organizes political efforts to support life.
Readers
Introduce the Mass and assist during the liturgy by proclaiming the Word of God. Readers should possess a good speaking voice and have a desire to serve during the liturgy.
Religious Education and Catechists
The Religious Education Office is responsible for parish-based religious education/catechetical programs. These programs are for all ages - religious education is life-long learning. Catechesis includes sacramental preparation (First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation), religious education programs for K- High School. The Office also trains, assists and supports catechists by incorporating workshops/in-service days.
Religious Education Committee
The Religious Education (RE) Committee works with the office of RE to participate in the planning, decision-making, and evaluation of the Religious Education Program. This committee meets every other month. The major responsibilities include review of program policies, curriculum, the budget, and sacrament programs.
Rosary Society
This ministry is a spiritual association made up of dedicated men and women who meet on a regular basis to recite the Rosary. Many of its members have a special personal devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Small Christian Communities
These small groups develop spirituality through elements of shared prayer, mutual support, reflection, and learning about and participating in the mission of Jesus. You can help organize events or simply participate in this meaningful expression of faith.
Social Justice and Charity
Sports
Provides an opportunity for the young people of our parish to participate in sports activities in a faith based atmosphere.
St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen
Located in Waterbury, this non-profit organization is always in need of volunteers. Adults can assist in the kitchen by preparing the noon meal and then serve the meal to the people. They also assist in cleaning up after the meals are cooked and served.
Stewardship Committee
Helps coordinate and evaluate the various ministries at our church and initiates new ministries as needs are identified; supports ministry leaders in developing their ministries; helps cultivate parishioner gifts of time and talent through ministry forums and fairs.
Ushers and Greeters
This is perhaps our most visible ministry and provides a variety of services that contribute to the good order of the Mass. They welcome and assist parishioners and visitors to our church. Ushers also perform other duties and take up the offertory collection.
Vacation Bible Camp
Vacation Bible School is one of the greatest opportunities we have to reach children during the summer months and leading them to the Lord. The children learn by music, crafts and bible story telling.
Web Site/Communications
If you have an interest in web design and/or writing, the Web Site Committee can use your help. Our web site provides a means of clear, concise communications to our parishioners about parish news, current events and parish life.
Wedding Preparation
Assist couples as they plan for a Catholic wedding ceremony and assist them at their wedding rehearsal.
Youth in Action
The purpose of the Youth in Action is training young people to lead the cause of Christ, and apply Christianity to every area. Contact the Religious Education office for more information about this program.
Youth Ministry
The Office of Religious Education works with the Youth population. Youth Ministry includes evangelization, community building, social justice, advocacy, prayer and worship. Is the Church’s effort to help each & every young person grow personally & Spiritually. Included within the scope of Youth Ministry are Young Neighbors in Action, Youth in Action, Food Fast, and our annual Musical.
