Children's Liturgy of the World

"Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

What is Children’s Liturgy of the World (CLoW)?

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is based on the scripture readings each Sunday. It includes a prayer and Sunday scripture readings. Instead of a homily, there is a question and answer discussion about what the children heard. We end with a Profession of Faith.

When is CLoW held?
CLoW is held on Sunday, only at the 9:30 Mass.

How old can my child be to participate?
Our program is offered to children in Kindergarten though 5th grade. Preschool aged children must be accompanied by an adult.

How does it work?
A CLoW leader, holding a Lectionary, processes in with Father. This signifies that CLoW is “on” that day. After the Welcome”, Father invited the children forward for a blessing after which they proceed to the stage in Church Hall where the program is held. The children return to there families during the offertory, in time for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

How can I help?
We welcome adults and teens to help with this program in the following ways:
• Lead present a session.
• Assist the Leader.
• Help set-up and break down a session before and after the 9:30 Mass.
All adult volunteers, working with children, must fill out a background check and attend a Protecting God’s Children Training Session.
